 It was an honor to participate in the 2022 commencement exercises at the University of New England (UNE), and to be awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree (Honorus Causa) as part of this memorable event.

I have had a long and fulfilling relationship with UNE including guest lectures and, beginning in 2021, sponsorship of the Shaw Innovation Fellows program to inspire creative confidence and innovative thinking across all UNE programs and majors.   

I was grateful for the opportunity to be with students, faculty and parents to celebrate this important moment,  amidst praise and best wishes including a message from President James Herbert to “embrace the discomfort, fear and anxiety that comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.”
