Honoring patriots and their sacrifices for our freedom

In the spirit of memorial day, honoring those who serve, I share a Harvard Kennedy School Journal article I wrote while serving on the faculty there.  The article is based on my experience with the US Department of Defense as DOD rethought military strategies for new threats in challenging days after the September 11 terrorist attacks.  It was an honor to be asked to join this effort, to meet remarkable leaders dedicated to our national safety, and to explore new strategies for a changing world.
