Inspiring Day at Acadia National Park with Interior Secretary Haaland, Wabanaki Nation, Yo-Yo Ma, Governor Mills, Maine’s Congressional Delegation and park leadership
by David E Shaw
At sunrise on June 18, 2021, I joined a small gathering of colleagues for a remarkable musical performance followed by discussions of funding issues and science-based stewardship for Acadia and America’s national park system.
I was inspired by the policy discussions, by scientific presentations, by the interaction between Wabanaki leaders and America’s first Native American cabinet secretary and by the musical collaboration between Wabanaki musicians and Yo-Yo Ma.
