Articulating a unifying story of American civic nationalism: Supporting the work of Colin Woodard at Pell Center’s Nationhood Lab

In October 2022, our Freeport Speech program welcomed best-selling author and historian Colin Woodard for a presentation entitled How to Save Our Democracy.  I introduced Colin to an enthusiastic audience in Freeport, Maine and launched an evening discussion about opportunities to better understand and overcome the divisiveness that plagues so much of American public life.
