Launch of Wave Making book:  Inspired by Impact

In this age of extraordinary new knowledge creation and opportunity, amidst vast oceans of media and cyclones of change, it can be challenging to stay focused on issues that matter and navigate to a sense of clarity and meaning. For those of us who grew up in a world with rotary dial telephones, decades before the first personal computer, the journey borders on science fiction.

Our individual and collective quests for happiness, purpose, and significance can be confounded by unprecedented complexity, like untangling a slinky in the dark. Yet we all have the potential to lead purposeful, fulfilling, and impactful lives. Evolution has endowed humans with brains that reward us with positive emotions from our choices that yield achievement, belonging, greater purpose, and a positive impact on the world. We can hold the reins of our adventurous journeys to make a dent in the universe. This requires the capacity to transform struggles into opportunity, turning life’s lemons into celebratory lemonade, and transforming stormy seas into worthy surfing opportunities.

I have just written a book which chronicles my impact-oriented experiences as a humble attempt to share inspiration from my life, just as others have shared their wisdom and experiences with me.  The intention of these writings is more about raising thought-provoking questions for lively debate than providing answers or suggesting ways of thinking. As we all search for personally meaningful purpose and significant impact, I will have succeeded in my goal with this book if it helps others deal with these issues more wisely than I have.

The book will become publicly available later this year and I have created this website as a resource to readers, along with a YouTube channel with relevant films that I have produced.
