William Zorach sculpture installation at PMA Shaw sculpture park

On July 6 The Portland Museum of Art celebrated the installation of William Zorach’s Spirit of the Dance sculpture in its Shaw family sculpture park.  This artwork was described in the early 1930s as “one of the most significant pieces of art ever produced in America.”  I have long admired an aluminum version of this sculpture at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
