Seascapes that inspired Winslow Homer

Seascapes that inspired Winslow Homer

Winslow Homer is a preeminent figure in American art.  Many of Homer’s most admired paintings were created at his seaside studio in Prouts Neck, now owned by the Portland Museum of Art.   I am fortunate to have a home near that studio,  I frequently hike along the rugged cliffs depicted in Homer masterpieces.  Recently, after photographing storm waves in the same locations that Homer painted, I made this short film to share my appreciation of his remarkable contributions to art, inspired by these dramatic seascapes.
