Carstensz Pyramid expedition: 30 year anniversary
30 years ago this month I began planning an epic mountain climbing adventure to the remote jungles of western Papua New Guinea. We planned a six day trek through wild and forbidding landscapes to reach Carstensz pyramid, the highest mountain between Asia and the Americas. The technically challenging climb to the summit of Carstensz would complete the long quest of several companions to reach the summits of the highest mountains on Earth’s 7 continents.
This short film chronicles our climbing adventure in 1994, and is intended to celebrate the human spirit of exploration and discovery.
