Civilian orientation program sheds light on DoD transformation
I was selected by the US Department of Defense to participate in it’s Joint Civilian Orientation Conference (JCOC) in 2003, to better understand a dramatic shift in national security challenges of our times, reflected in tragic events such as the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. DoD and other government agencies embarked upon transformation strategies in response to these new challenges and the JCOC program provided an outstanding opportunity to better appreciate these issues of immense public importance. As a result of the program I wrote an article for the Kennedy School journal “Compass” and helped organize programs at the school on this subject.
