Bette Midler Honors David E Shaw at 21st Annual Hulaween Gala
It was a thrill to be honored by the New York Restoration Project (NYRP) at this year’s Hulaween gala, and to highlight our shared interests in healthy communities and a healthy planet. As a friend and admirer of NYRP founder Bette Midler, I am pleased to support this important work, and I am working to foster collaborations with other like-minded people and organizations including the US National Park Service.
The 21st annual NYRP gala on October 30, 2017 was a spectacular event, benefitting the important work of this city-wide conservancy. NYRP creates functional green space in underserved communities across New York City, to provide a healthier living environment. Via more than 50 community gardens and two major parks, NYRP seeks to connect New Yorkers to nature and foster community engagement. In 2017 the program has reached more than 10,000 students.
