DAVID E. SHAW

David Shaw’s career has combined business leadership, government and community service, strategy consulting and investment management.

David is Executive Chairman of Ikaria., a specialty pharmaceutical company, founder and retired CEO of IDEXX Laboratories, and has also been a director and/or founder of numerous high technology companies including IDEXX, Cytyc Corporation, Ikaria, Microbia, Fetch, Magen BioSciences and others.

Recently David has served on the faculty of Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, the advisory board of the school’s Center for Public Leadership and the selection committee for America's Best Leaders. He has been a senior advisor to New Mountain Capital, Chair of The Jackson Laboratory, a member of the Executive Committee of the US-Israel Science and Technology Commission, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a member of YPO and CEO, an advisor within the State of Maine executive department, a trustee of Maine Medical Center, Hurricane Island Outward Bound and other non-profits.

David also serves as Managing Partner of Black Point Group, a private investment partnership, and Partner at Venrock Associates, a venture capital firm.
